SurfaceWorks participates in environmental programs and maintains certifications covering responsible forestry, indoor air quality, composite wood sourcing, emissions, and restricted substances.

U.S. Green Building Council

The U.S. Green Building Council is a nonprofit organization that developed the LEED green building rating system. SurfaceWorks has been a member since 2007, and selected products and materials may help projects pursue applicable LEED credits.

Forest Stewardship Council

The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent organization that promotes responsible forest management. SurfaceWorks is FSC Mix certified, and its chain-of-custody certification covers work-surface production using the percentage system.

SCS Global Services

SCS Global Services provides independent environmental and sustainability certification. SurfaceWorks works with SCS for FSC Chain of Custody certification and SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification.

SCS Indoor Advantage Gold

Indoor Advantage Gold certification aligns with California Section 01350 indoor air-quality criteria. Certified SurfaceWorks products conform to the applicable open- and private-office furniture standards.

Composite Panel Association

The Composite Panel Association represents manufacturers and provides certification programs for composite wood products.

Eco-Certified Composite

SurfaceWorks is ECC Downstream Certified and purchases at least 95% of its composite wood products from CPA ECC-certified sources.

EPA TSCA Title VI

EPA TSCA Title VI establishes formaldehyde emission standards for composite wood products and aligns closely with California Air Resources Board Phase 2 requirements. SurfaceWorks states that all of its products comply with these requirements.

RoHS 2
