Digital Laminate Surfaces

Almost anything that can be printed on paper can be incorporated into digital laminate, including logos, photography, illustrations, custom graphics, and backgrounds. You can provide a complete design, create your own artwork, or ask us to assist with developing or refining your design.

Yes. If your project includes a corporate or school logo, the logo is usually the focal point, but the background is an important part of the overall design. We encourage creativity and can assist with creating or enhancing a background that complements your logo.

Yes. stock artwork is a great resource for backgrounds and complete designs. Our preferred stock Library is Shutterstock. Send us the Shutterstock image number or link and we will review it for suitability. Once approved, we can purchase the artwork with the appropriate licensing for use in your project. Or, you can provide your own stock artwork from other sources.

Yes. Designs from the Wilsonart Virtual Design Library can be incorporated into your custom digital laminate. These patterns can be combined with your own artwork, adjusted, and enhanced to create a more customized design.

We can work toward a similar appearance, but an exact match should not be expected. Digital laminate is typically printed on Frosty White or Designer White paper rather than standard wallboard laminate paper, which can create differences in color and tone. In some cases, certain wallboard papers may be usable, but specific requirements must be met and the finished result will still vary from the original laminate.

Vector files such as Adobe Illustrator, EPS, or PDF are preferred. High-resolution JPEG or TIFF files can also work. Raster artwork should be at least 100 pixels per inch at full size. For example, raster artwork for a 24-inch-wide surface should be at least 2,400 pixels wide.

All text in vector artwork should be converted to outlines before submission. This helps prevent font substitutions or formatting changes if the original font is not available in our system.

We can match colors as closely as possible using the CMYK printing process. If precise color matching is important, please provide the Pantone color number, and we will find the closest CMYK match. Some colors cannot be reproduced exactly in CMYK, so a scatter proof with several CMYK variations may be provided for you to select the preferred match.

Large areas of solid color or smooth gradients are generally not recommended for digital laminate. If you want the appearance of a solid color, we may suggest using a subtle speckled pattern that reads as solid from a distance while producing a more consistent result.

Our initial quote generally includes up to 2 hours of design and sheet-layout time. Additional charges may apply if the project requires extensive revisions, additional artwork preparation, or assistance creating or significantly enhancing the design.

Digital laminate is available in the following standard Wilsonart finishes: High Gloss (01), Textured Gloss (07), Fine Velvet Texture (38), and Matte (60).

Yes. An actual 15" × 19" laminate proof containing your design elements will be provided for final approval before production. A PDF layout proof showing your tabletop design can also be provided upon request

Typical lead time is approximately 10–12 weeks after proof approval, although timing can vary based on artwork complexity, the speed of the approval process, and manufacturing conditions. We recommend submitting artwork as early as possible, ideally with your quote request, to help identify and resolve any issues before they affect the schedule.
