Angelo Pinaffo
His work balances aesthetic and technical originality with form, function, and the demands of industrial production.
Angelo Pinaffo was born in Padua in 1966. He studied at the State Institute of Art “Pietro Selvatico” in Padua, earning certificates in art and applied arts with a focus on architecture and interior design. He continued his studies in architectural design at IUAV University of Venice. His creative ability led to early collaborations with prominent architecture and design studios, establishing a lasting connection to professional practice.
His experience includes national and international architectural competitions, architectural restoration, museum design, architecture, furniture, interiors, industrial design, and graphic design. Since the late 1990s, he has focused increasingly on freelance industrial design, with particular expertise in seating for offices, community spaces, contract environments, and residential settings. He has developed numerous original mechanical solutions, many of which have been patented. With a constant pursuit of simplicity and close attention to detail, his work balances aesthetics, function, and industrial requirements. He follows each product from its initial idea through development, industrialization, and final production.

- 2003: Silver Award at Best of NeoCon Chicago for Copernicus, a monobloc seating system designed for universities, conference halls, and training rooms (Sitmatic).
- 2004: Preselection for the Compasso d’Oro Award from ADI, the Association for Industrial Design, for Steel, a collection of auditorium armchairs designed for conference halls, auditoriums, theaters, and cinemas (Deko Collezioni).
- 2014: Gold Award at Best of NeoCon Chicago in the Seating: Stacking category, and selection among five finalists in the competition, for the laKendō chair family (Diemmebi).
- 2015: Interzum Award for High Product Quality—Intelligent Material & Design—for the Kendō caster (Diemmebi).
